Overview

The project tasked our team with developing a cutting-edge Virtual Production Setup for Aptech's education vertical, MEL (Media and Entertainment Learning). This initiative aimed to revolutionize the educational experience by integrating immersive technologies and virtual environments into Aptech's curriculum. The comprehensive scope encompassed several key components, including recommending suitable hardware, devising a Virtual Production workflow, and facilitating the seamless integration of technology. Our approach began with a thorough assessment of Aptech's requirements and objectives. We conducted extensive research to identify the most appropriate hardware solutions tailored to the specific needs of MEL's educational programs. This involved evaluating factors such as performance capabilities, compatibility with virtual production software, and scalability to accommodate future expansion. In parallel, we developed a bespoke Virtual Production workflow designed to optimize efficiency and maximize creative potential.

This encompassed the entire production pipeline, from content creation and asset management to real-time rendering and interactive visualization. We sucesssfully collaborated with Associates like Accord Equips, Molasi International, Unreal Engine Virtual Production Specialist, Rokok. This collaborative effort ensured alignment with industry best practices and facilitated seamless integration of technology solutions. With a tight timeline of three-four months, including hardware procurement, installation, technical stitching, and workflow creation, meticulous planning and coordination were paramount. We adopted a phased approach to hardware procurement, aligning delivery timelines with installation schedules to ensure a smooth transition and timely implementation. This strategic planning minimized potential disruptions and ensured that all components were in place when needed.

Simultaneously, software training commenced in the second month to familiarize MEL staff with Unreal Engine, Axximetry, and VR solutions. This early start allowed for sufficient time for staff members to gain proficiency in the software platforms, empowering them to leverage the full capabilities of the Virtual Production Setup effectively. Furthermore, close collaboration with architects and electrical teams was instrumental in ensuring seamless integration of the Virtual Production Setup within the physical environment. By coordinating with these teams, we proactively addressed considerations such as power requirements, temperature control, and networking infrastructure, mitigating potential challenges and optimizing the setup's performance and reliability.
